Young Living Essential Oils for Massage and Bodywork

The Young Livings oils are perfect for home use and professional use. Many practitioners recommend Young Living oils because they are the best quality oils to use.

Young Living essential oils can be used in conjunction with: Massage, Acupressure, Reflexology, Acupuncture, Reiki, Emotional Release, VitaFlex, Chiropractic (Valor on the feet before treatment is very popular), Healing Touch, Therapeutic Touch, Raindrop Technique, and many more.

It's the superior quality of Young Living Essential Oils that makes them more versatile than other brands of aromatherapy oils. You can use the Young Living oils in more ways than a cheaper essential oil - whether it's for personal home use or at a luxurious spa - you're just going to gain more benefits from going with the real deal.

Additionally, it is far less expensive to use a high quality aromatherapy oil - because you will use a lot less and gain more benefit as well.

To save even more, I highly recommend becoming a wholesale customer, it's so easy and convenient. Learn more about buying at wholesale.

Massage Therapy and Essential Oils

Massage therapy—the treatment and practice of soft tissue manipulation with physical, functional, and psychological goals—involves massaging a person's body in a way that increases overall wellness. Targeted pressure on the body is usually applied with hands and elbows and is said to have numerous health benefits.

Massage therapy dates back more than 3,000 years. Used by the Chinese, Hindus, Egyptians, Persians, and ancient Greeks, the therapeutic benefits of various types of massage have been documented for centuries.

Touch, body work, and massage have many positive effects on the muscle, joint, circulatory, and other body systems, and when combined with essential oils create a relaxing, luxurious experience that balances the mind, body, and spirit.

Offering only the purest, most potent natural properties from each plant source, Young Living Therapeutic Grade™ (YLTG) essential oils contain the optimum level of therapeutic constituents for the most beneficial massage results.

I've had massages with lower quality essential oils and while the massage itself feels amazing there is an entire dimension that is completely lost. I've even been known to bring my own Young Living oils with me to a massage appointment when a massage therapist does not have or use Young Living oils. Some of my most moving spiritual and enlightening experiences have occurred while having an excellent massage using Young Living oils.

Massage Therapy for Improved Health and Wellness

Touch, body work, and massage have many positive effects on the muscle, joint, circulatory, and other body systems, and when combined with essential oils create a relaxing, luxurious experience that balances the mind, body, and spirit.

Offering only the purest, most potent natural properties from each plant source, Young Living Therapeutic Grade™ (YLTG) essential oils contain the optimum level of therapeutic constituents for the most beneficial massage results.

Young Living Massage Oils

This luxurious line of massage oils is made up of six Young Living therapeutic-grade essential oil blends, each offering physical and emotional benefits when accompanied by a personal or professional massage. The Young Living carrier oil, V-6, is unscented for use plain or with the addition of your chosen YL essential oils.

Young Living Massage Oils

  • Cel-Lite Magic Massage Oil: combines the health-enhancing benefits of specially selected vegetable oils with vitamin E and YLTG essential oils to nourish and tone skin. We add grapefruit essential oil to benefit skin texture and juniper essential oil to help detoxify and cleanse skin.
  • Dragon Time Massage Oil: powerful essential oils that have been researched in Europe for their balancing effects. The result is a soothing, stabilizing massage blend that helps calm and uplift women during challenging times of the month. In addition to massage, you can put 1/2 ounce in the bathtub for a refreshing bath.
  • Ortho Ease Massage Oil: soothes and warms tired and stressed bodies, helping to combat the damaging effects of everyday activities. With a calming blend of YLTG essential oils, Ortho Ease will leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed.
  • Ortho Sport Massage Oil: is a stronger version of Ortho Ease, Ortho Sport Massage Oil is designed for both professional and amateur athletes, as well as anyone who works or plays hard. Ortho Sport Massage Oil has a higher phenol content, which has been used traditionally to produce a warming sensation and provide relief to tired muscles.
  • Relaxation Massage Oil: can help create a state of relaxation and restore vitality to body, mind, and spirit.
  • Sensation Massage Oil: leaves skin feeling smooth, silky, and youthful. The beautiful fragrance of Sensation may stimulate feelings of romance.
  • V-6 Enhanced Vegetable Oil Complex: is a luxurious carrier oil used to dilute certain essential oils. V-6 can be mixed with any Young Living essential oils to create custom blends, formulas, and massage oils. This vegetable oil complex nourishes the skin, has a long shelf life, doesn’t clog pores, and will not stain clothes. V-6 is offered in both 8-ounce and 32-ounce refill bottles.

The Science of Massage Therapy

Massage therapy has been shown to have a wide array of benefits. From anxiety reduction and pain relief to improved circulation, the therapeutic effects of touch promote all aspects of wellness. Essential oils further support the benefits of massage therapy by enabling targeted aromatic and topical relief. Certain oil collections, like Young Living's Raindrop Technique®, combine the art of aromatherapy with the techniques of Vita Flex—rolling and releasing motions that activate the reflex points—and massage.

Start by applying 2 drops of a single essential oil or blend on the skin and massage it in. If you are working on a large area, such as the back, mix 1-3 drops of the selected essential oil with 1 teaspoon carrier oil (such as V-6, jojoba, almond, olive or grapeseed). Keep in mind that some massage oils/carrier oils can stain some fabrics.

Topical application of these specific oils to various areas of the body brings balance and harmony while fostering a truly holistic wellness experience. Here are some commonly used techniques for self-massage:

  • Head massage: Rub essential oils into the base of the skull, the crown of the head, or on the temples in a circular motion.
  • Face massage: Place a few drops of essential oil onto your hands and rub them together. Lightly cup your face in your hands; the warmth of your hands and aroma of the oils will aid in relaxation.
  • Jaw massage: Rub 1–2 drops of essential oil into the soft spot just below your ear lobe to release tension.
  • Torso massage: For a quick energy boost rub essential oils into the area above the kidneys.
  • Foot massage: There are many pressure points in the feet that correspond to other body systems. Rubbing the soles of the feet with essential oils is a great way to release tension.

Young Living has over 100 different single essential oils and blends to choose from and no matter which type of massage is chosen the results can be greatly enhanced by selecting the right essential oil for the challenges which are being faced.

Young Living's V-6 Massage Oil (mentioned above) is just that, it does not contain any essential oils in it - which makes it perfect for adding the essential oils of your choice.

Acupuncture

When performing an acupressure treatment, apply 1-3 drops of essential oil to the acupressure point with finger. Using an auricular probe with a slender point to dispense the oil can enhance the application. Start by pressing firmly and then releasing. Avoid applying pressure to any particular pressure for too long. You may continue along the pressure points and meridians, or use the reflexology or VitaFlex points as well. Once you have completed the small point stimulations, massage the general area with the essential oil.

Layering

Layering is a technique that consists of applying multiple oils one at a time. For example, place marjoram over a sore muscle, massage it into the tissue gently until the area is dry, and then apply a second oil, such as peppermint, until the oil is absorbed and the skin is dry. Then layer on the third oil, such as basil, and continue massaging.

Therapeutic treatment using essential oils follows three different models or frameworks: French, German, and English.

The English model: advocates diluting a small amount of essential oil in vegetable oil (a carrier oil) and massaging the body for the purpose of relaxation and relieving stress.

The French model: prescribes the ingestion and neat (undiluted) topical application of therapeutic grade essential oils. A common form of internal use is to add a few drops of an essential oil to blue agave nectar or honey, a piece of bread, or a small amount of vegetable oil. Many French practitioners have found that taking the oils internally yields excellent benefits. See the GRAS List PDF to learn which Young Living essential oils can be ingested.

The German model: focuses on inhalation of essential oils. Research has shown that the effect of fragrance and aromatic compounds on the sense of smell can exert strong effects on the brain - especially on the hypothalamus (the hormone command center of the body) and limbic system (the seat of emotions). Some essential oils high in sesquiterpenes, such as myrrh, sandalwood, cedarwood, vetiver, melissa, and frankincense, can dramatically increase oxygenation and activity in the brain. This may directly improve the function of many systems of the body.

We use the Young Living essential oils in the French model. We are able to use them in these ways (topical, inhaling and ingesting) because Young Living does produce the finest essential oils in the world; they are extremely pure. You never want to use a non-therapeutic essential oil in the same manner in which we use the Young Living oils. Learn more about why quality matters.

Together, these three models show how versatile and powerful pure therapeutic-grade essential oils can be. By integrating all three models with Vita Flex, auricular technique, touch therapy, spinal touch, lymphatic massage, and Raindrop Technique, the best possible results may be obtained.

In some cases, inhalation of essential oils might be preferred over topical application, if the goal is to increase growth hormone secretion, induce weight loss, or balance mood and emotions. Sandalwood, peppermint, vetiver, lavender, and white fir oils are effective for inhalation.

In other cases, however, topical application of essential oils would produce better results, particularly in the case of spinal or muscle injuries or defects. Topically applied, marjoram is excellent for muscles, lemongrass for ligaments, and wintergreen for bones.

For indigestion, a drop or two of peppermint oil taken orally may be very effective. However, this does not mean that peppermint cannot produce the same results when massaged on the stomach.

In some cases, all three methods of application (topical, inhalation, and ingestion) are interchangeable and may produce similar benefits. The ability of essential oils to act on both the mind and the body is what makes them truly unique among natural therapeutic agents.

The fragrance of some essential oils can be very stimulating--both psychologically and physically. The fragrance of other essential oils may be calming and sedating, helping to overcome anxiety or hyperactivity. On a physiological level, essential oils may stimulate immune function and regenerate damaged tissue. Essential oils may also combat infectious disease by killing viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens.

Probably the two most common methods of essential oil application are cold-air diffusing and neat (undiluted) topical application.

Other modes of application include incorporating essential oils into the disciplines of reflexology, Vita Flex, and acupressure (described above). Combining these disciplines with essential oils enhances the healing response and often produces amazing results that can not be achieved by acupuncture or reflexology alone. Just 1 - 3 drops of an essential oil applied to an acupuncture meridian or Vita Flex point (Vita Flex Foot chart pdf)on the hand or foot can produce results within a minute or two.

My Household Tip

Thieves Household Cleaner as a Laundry Detergent

I have not bought any type of laundry detergent or laundry products for 6 or 7 years now. I use Thieves Household Cleaner in place of laundry detergent. I love it so much that I haven't used anything else since.

Here's how I use it:

In my front loading washer, I put into the detergent dispensor one capful (Tablespoon) of Thieves Household Cleaner - and that's it!

I never use bleach or fabric softener - I don't have to! Beacuse Thieves cleaner is not a soap it doesn't make clothes feel stiff or scratchy. My clothes smell really good too.

I save a lot of money on laundry products by only needing this one product.

Thieves cleaner is an excellent option for those whowant to minimize their exposure to cancer-causing household products and want to have a Green lifestyle.

Thieves Household Cleaner is all-purpose - I even wash my car with it! ~ Evelyn Vincent

My Pet Tip

Deep Relief Essential Oil RollOn for Dog Back Pain

A few years ago Bandit injured his back and sometimes he gets stiff from it and you can see he feels quite uncomfortable. Bandit loves the Young Living essential oils and often we let him choose which oil he wants applied.

Last summer his back was bothering him pretty badly and I asked him if he wanted Palo Santo, he didn't give his usual positive response. So I went to my essential oil case and held various bottles of essential oils about 12 inches from his nose and asked him if he wanted this oil. He still didn't give me his usual 'yes' sign and I was running out of options.

Instead, he walked over to the coffee table and pushed a new essential oil that we had just gotten in, Deep Relief RollOn. I picked up th Deep Relief and said, "do you want oils?" and there was his yes response. It took some effort to apply the deep Relief as I have to move his long hair out of way so the ball of the rollon applicator could make contact with his skin, but we did it. About 10-15 minutes later he was feeling much better. So now he has two favorite essential oils, Palo Santo and Deep Relief!

My Skin Care Tip

Frankincense and Boswellia Cream for Wrinkles

This is my most favorite way to prevent wrinkles...

Put 2 drops of Young Living Frankincense essential oil in the palm of your hand, then dip your finger into the essential oil and gently dab onto face (avoiding contact with eyes). After a minute, apply the Young Living Boswellia Wrinkle Cream onto face and neck area.

Note: the Boswellia Wrinkle Cream is very concentrated, you will only need a tiny amount.

My Immune System Tip

High Potency Probiotic: Life 5

Over the past 30 or more years I've tried many different brands of probiotics, some of which didn't have any effect whatsoever. I was very excited when Young Living created "Life 5" and couldn't wait to give it a try. I really like it's effectiveness.

I especially like the ingredients in Life 5, it contains five clinically proven probiotic strains including three advanced super strains to enhance intestinal health, sustain energy and improve immunity. Life 5 contains 8 billion active cultures and improves colonization up to 10 times.

A few weeks ago I ate some food that didn't agree with me and my stomach began hurting and rumbling. I took 2 Life 5 capsules and within 5-10 minutes I was feeling back to normal. I'm empressed with Young Living's Life 5.

Ingredients: HOWARU™ Rhamnosus (Ld. rhamnosus), Lactobacillus acidophilus (LA-14), HOWARU™ Bifido (Bifidobacterium lactis), Lactoferrin Streptococcus thermophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, magnesium stearate, and silica.
